Why Manage Your Electricity?

Electricity that comes to your home from a substation has characteristics that are not ideal for your home or business, namely a poor Power Factor (PF). A poor PF can result in wires and motors overheating, shortening the life of your appliances or equipment and putting your electrical system at risk. When the PF is improved, motors will be more efficient due to them starting with less stress and running cooler, thus prolonging their life expectancy.

If you experience any static 'noise' on your phone or TV, the XPS Electricity Management Systems may reduce or eliminate the static by reducing noise on the powerline. Powerline noise can also damage sensitive electronic equipment like computers, wireless devices and more. It can even cause data loss if phone lines or a cable service is used for an internet connection.

Lastly, the XPS manages voltage transients. These are parasitic voltage spikes created by electronic sources in your home or business. These voltage spikes, if not managed, can reduce the life expectancy of appliances and can even cause light bulbs to burn out prematurely.

Now, thanks to the XPS Electricity Management Systems, there is a smart way to manage your home's or business's energy 24/7, reducing your electricity demand.

Here's How It Works!

XPS Electricity Management Systems improve the Power Factor by reducing the amount of reactive power that the load draws from the utility company. This is accomplished by supplying the reactive power locally at the load by the use of specifically designed capacitors. These capacitors store the reactive power needed for stabilizing electric current within an inductive load. Therefore, the amount of reactive power purchased from the power company results in "lower utility costs if the power factor clause is enforced or the utility charges for the kVA demand."

Why Improve The Power Factor?

XPS Electricity Management Systems are designed to reduce the kilovolt-amps (kVA or apparent power) on inductive motors in the home or business."The XPS Systems have been scientifically proven to consistently reduce kVAR,kVA and Amp values under constant kW load while improving Power Factor in homes or businesses."

The XPS Systems are a must for locations using kVA, Smart or Demand Meters. Since utility companies are switching to these types of meters for most homes and businesses, the XPS Systems are an absolute fit for today's energy saving needs.

The U.S. Department of Energy Fact Sheet reports that a low Power Factor is "expensive and inefficient". It also states that you can "improve your Power Factor to reduce your electric bills and to enhance your electrical system's capacity". XPS Systems are specially designed to improve Power Factor in homes and businesses.

Independent Testing

The XPS Electricity Management Systems have been independently tested by a laboratory named 'Power Quality Engineering, Inc.' and the results can be viewed here.

Are XPS Systems Legal?

The answer is YES. Power factor optimization benefits the utility companies by the energy demands for portions of the grid. When the utility can't meet the energy demands of the grid, brown outs and in the worse case, black outs are the result.

The XPS Systems improve your home's Power Factor, thus reducing the amount of power your home requires. The utility company will be able to reassign that power to another portion of the grid

How Does the XPS100 Work?

The XPS100 reduces the amount of power drawn from the utility by storing otherwise lost electricity caused by the inductive motors in your home. Examples of inductive motors are Air Conditioning units, refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers, dishwashers, pool pumps, vacuum cleaners, furnace blower motors, fans etc…

What is Power Factor?

Power factor is the percentage of electricity that’s delivered to your house and used effectively, compared to what is wasted. For example, a 1.0 power factor means that all the electricity that’s being delivered to your home is being used effectively for its purpose. However, most homes in America today have a .77 power factor or less. This means that 77% of the electricity that is coming thru your meter at your home or business is being used effectively, the other 23% is being wasted by your inductive load. With a low power factor, the utility has to deliver more electricity to do the same work. However, the XPS100 increases that power factor in many cases to .95 to .98, thus increasing the effective use of your electricity and lowering your usage. You become a better steward of our natural resources. (Power Factor Document)

Does the XPS100 work in any home?

Yes it does, as long as you have a circuit breaker panel with breaker switches and not the old screw in type fuses, the unit will work on any single-phase electric application for homes.

Is the XPS100 tested and approved by independent labs?

Yes, the XPS100 is "ETL" listed and tested. Goto www.intertek.com Also, the technology is recognized by the U.S. Department of Energy.

Is the XPS100 easy to install?

Yes,
1. locate your electrical panel
2. locate your first 20 amp breaker near the top of the panel.
3. Turn off that breaker and find out what outlets out, and plug in the XPS100.
4. Turn breaker back on.
You have just conditioned half of your electrical panel.
Installation of the second unit is a easy as locating the breaker right below it and repeat the process.

How long will the XPS100 last?

It has a predicted lifespan of 20 plus years.

Why haven’t I heard of this product until now?

That’s easy; two words “cost effectiveness”. Up until recently, electric rates throughout America were cheap, costing us 2, 3 or 4 cents per kilowatt-hour. Now, electric rates are 8, 10, 12, 14, and 19 and in some cases New York City is 22 cents per Kwh, and Hawaii is 33.5 cents per Kwh. At the cheaper rates the XPS100 didn’t make sense, but at the current rates, it makes all the sense in the world! Click here to link to the US Dept of Energy electric rates by state.

Secondly, Xedia Technologies was launched in October 2007 with XPS100 as one of its flagship products. While Greg Dockery’s company has been creating, developing, and manufacturing hi-tech products for over 20-yrs, Xedia and Xium formed this relationship to take Greg’s most recent development (at that time) in XPS100 directly to the consumer via the channel of network marketing. More consumers will now see the benefits of XPS100 (especially thru the use of the XPS100 Demo Kit and Demo Video) through in-home demonstrations, creating a tremendous business opportunity for people like you!

Will the XPS100 work internationally on 240 volts and/or 50 Hz?

The XPS100 will work internationally on both 110/240V - 50/60 Hz electric systems.

Will the XPS100 work as a surge protector?

The XPS100 will not act as a surge protector. It corrects parasitic spikes and surges on the electrical line but not high surges.

Should I plug the XPS100 into a Surge protector?

The XPS100 needs to condition the electrical line and so plugging the XPS100 into a surge protector will negate it's work. Do not plug the XPS100 into a surge protector.

How many XPS100s do I need for my home?

The square footage of a home is not a determining factor for the number of XPS100s a home should have. The best way to determine how many XPS100s you need is to determine it by the amount of the electric bill and determining ROI (return on investment) An electric bill under $90 may not yield the savings in a certain amount of time that would justify a purchase of the XPS100. On electric bills from $90 -$200 one XPS100 would be good and on bills higher than $200 two would be justifiable. There is a point at which the XPS100 will lose it's efficiency so more XPS100s can be added to the electrical system.

Will the XPS100 increase my electric bill?

Technically the XPS100 will increase your electric bill around .80 cents a month and that is simply because there is a little LED light on the top of the unit.

Is the XPS100 Dangerous?

The XPS100 will actually reduce the heat of your wiring making your home safer.

Does the XPS100 lower Electro Magnetic Field Radiation (EMF)?
